MY STORY

As an artist Imogen is predominantly inspired by nature. She uses natural materials and processes as a way of rekindling a connection between human beings and the wider natural world. Beginning her creative journey as a ceramicist, "I became fascinated by the idea that I could resource my own clay from the ground beneath my feet. Since then I have developed my skills in other areas such as willow weaving and green woodworking so that I am now able to create purely from nature."

Imogen has a passion for sharing creative experiences with others which is why she is currently working as a community artist. Over the past three years she have been completely absorbed in participatory artwork. She has been involved with large scale community generated festivals where giant lanterns light up the sky. She has led weekly workshops with regular participants, tailoring activities to the individuals needs. She has also delivered lectures and practical skills to university students concerning the use of sustainable building materials in art.

Throughout her career as a Community Artist Imogen has been privileged to deliver workshops to a dynamic array of people; from children with learning difficulties, Czech Roma travellers, and refugees to adults with mental health concerns.
